Keep Martindale Hall For The people
The previous state government sought, unsuccessfully, to privatise the iconic Martindale Hall, star of the film Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Martindale Hall was gifted to the entire community, for all of us to enjoy.
It was never intended to be sold off, turned into luxury, private accommodation, for the benefit of a fortunate few. It must stay in the hands of the community!!
During the state election, SA Labor Deputy-Leader and now-Deputy-Premier, Dr. Susan Close, pledged her support for keeping Martindale Hall under community control.
Hear her remarks, and those from other MPs and candidates, below.

Save our history!
Martindale Hall was bequeathed to the University of Adelaide who handed it to the State Givernment. The Government should honour this gift.. It is a beautiful, significant piece of our history amd should not be sold. The Government owes this to the public. Save our history!
This must be kept open for the people enjoy. My Mother was a Bowman and as such was a relative of the original owner/builder of Martindale Hall Edmund Bowman.
Thank you Peter. We are encouraging the new State Government to give fair consideration to the National Trust’s proposal to manage Martindale Hall.
We would be interested in hearing more about your family connections.
