Do you think that Councils and community members need to have a greater voice in planning and development decisions affecting their local area?
Absolutely . After all it's our community and the area we choose to live in and the future for our kids.What role should Councils play in protecting local heritage places from demolition or inappropriate development?
Council should always have the final decision in protecting local heritage places. After all we are the ones that live in the area and not some politician or so public employee that live miles away.How would you seek to improve protections for heritage places in your area?
I would form a working party within council which would include councillors , council employees that live in the area and representative's for and against a proposal, as it is important to get everyone's input.We rarely see new places added to local heritage listings. Why do you think this is?
We must maintain a balance. History is important and understanding the history of our local area is so valuable for everyone and future generations.How has the Planning and Design Code impacted on the heritage, amenity, and environment of your area? What changes would you seek to the Code?
I am not familiar with the Planning and Design Code on the heritage, but if elected as Mayor i will come up to speed as it's important when making my recommendations to council. If changes are needed to the code we as a council will proceed in our endeavor for the better of our community.What are the impacts of infill development in your area? What changes would you seek in the rules around infill development?
I would form a working party within council as we must maintain a balance. We as a council would have to carry out a survey on the current situation and proposals that are current and determine what is best for our district.Construction of new housing typically uses 30% labour and 70% materials. Renovation of existing housing stock typically uses 70% labour and 30% materials. What policy changes would you like to see made to encourage people to renovate, rather than demolish and build anew?
That is a decision for the home owner after all there decision would be based on their family needs and financial situation.How should the community be informed and involved in decisions about new developments?

It is our duty to take all steps necessary to reduce the impact on our climate for the future of our grandkids.What issues are there with traffic and parking in your area?
