1. Do you think that Councils and community members need to have a greater voice in planning and development decisions affecting their local area?
   Yes

2. What role should Councils play in protecting local heritage places from demolition or inappropriate development?
   By not agreeing to motions at council that remove local heritage status Also they can move for potential heritage items to become either Local or State Heritage protected

3. How would you seek to improve protections for heritage places in your area?
   This is something that I have actually achieved As soon as the West End Brewery announced they were leaving I nominated for a Heritage audit of the site by the Heritage Council I was aware of the possibility of the remnants of Colonel Light and Maria Gandy’s Theberton Cottage as well as the Brewery Tower and the Brewery Gardens. Fortunately these as well as objects associated with the area such as the plaque commemorating the site of Colonel Light and Maria Gandy’s Theberton Cottage and the Copper Kettle which was originally located in the Brewery Tower

4. We rarely see new places added to local heritage listings. Why do you think this is?
   Unfortunately I attempted to have the above listed as Local Heritage items but the concern was about how much a Heritage Audit would cost. Some Elected Members appeared to be more concerned about the cost and inconvenience that Lion Nathan may have to bare! I have no answer here except that actions, not words in this area are often lacking

5. How has the Planning and Design Code impacted on the heritage, amenity, and environment of your area? What changes would you seek to the Code?
   In my experience I have found little difference so for with the P&D Code and the previous code. Both are lacking The current Urban Corridor situation seems to me to be the worse thing ever Whilst most residents understand the taller buildings on main roads, this often extends to developments one street back as in the case of 4-10 Railway Terrace Mile End and 6 Ebor Street Mile End This needs to be adjusted so that only the main road property is affected!

6. What are the impacts of infill development in your area? What changes would you seek in the rules around infill development?
   More green open space required in new developments Larger TNVs larger minimum space etc

7. Construction of new housing typically uses 30% labour and 70% materials. Renovation of existing housing stock typically uses 70% labour and 30% materials. What policy changes would you like to see made to encourage people to renovate, rather than demolish and build anew?
   I have no answer for this

8. How should the community be informed and involved in decisions about new developments?
   The consultation restrictions of Category 1 & 2 developments need to be abolished Everyone should have the right to consult in regard to developments in their neighbourhood

9. Do you think there is adequate tree canopy across your local government area?
   NO

10. How would you like to see significant and regulated trees in your area protected from removal?
    There is quite a lot of protection of these at the moment under State legislation I have no immediate answer for improvement

11. What involvement should Councils have in decisions about protecting or removing significant and regulated trees?
    This is currently decided by the Council Assessment Panel I believe that this is currently adequate

12. What actions would you advocate to slow or mitigate the impacts of climate change in your local government area?
    More parks and greenspace

13. What issues are there with traffic and parking in your area?
    Too much!

14. How could transport options be improved in your area?
    For areas such as 40kph limited zones to be increased and improved West Torrens is currently the only inner council area surrounding the City of Adelaide that does not have a 40kph limit zone

15. What would your top three priorities be for improving planning policy and outcomes in your local government area?
    Urban Corridors to be re-examined
    More 40kph zones
    More Local or State Heritage items to nominated by Elected Members
