Do you agree that the identification and protection of local heritage places is best done by local councils rather than DPTI (Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure)?

Should be category 2 possibly 3 as if they are LISTED then its everyone's business.Should buildings listed as Contributory Items in your council area receive better protection?
They should be better Maintained YES.Do you agree that places proposed for listing by your council as Local Heritage or Contributory Items should be subject to review by DPTI? Or would reviews be more appropriately conducted by an independent source of expert advice?
Don't know.... Why DPTI ? Is there such a thing as Independent Expert Advice? I think we are able to rely on Local Heritage Buffs in Local Association.Would you like to see your council work more closely with the National Trust of SA in protecting heritage, for example, by signing up as one of the Trust's Civic Partners?
Why not, Council partners many associations there can only be better communication, its a sharing learning process.What are your personal suggestions for improving the way your council handles policy and planning?
Have a regular change over of staff it is never worth while to allow familiarity to become imbedded. 'Bob's your Uncle?'Should councils actively encourage individuals to nominate places for consideration as local heritage?
YES. Its unlikely that council is not already aware of most of the sites/places. Certainly in a small area like V.H.
