  1. What do you think Council's role is in protecting and conserving heritage?
    Ensure items of cultural significance, built or otherwise, are protected and maintained for the benefit of future generations. Council should make every effort to identify such items and make funds available for their conservation. In the case of privately owned heritage owners should be expected to ensure such items are properly maintained.

    Port Adelaide is rich in heritage, which hasn't always been identified (and I think appreciated) and it may be possible to do a lot more in this area. Natural environment has been overlooked sometimes.
