1. What do you think Council's role is in protecting and conserving heritage?
   As there are no National Trust properties or buildings in the City of Port Lincoln Council Area the Local National Trust Branch was disbanded some time ago. I would imagine that there may be a role for council in conserving heritage, despite this, in the future. Council have had a positive role in the past in conserving some interesting older buildings that they own while still retaining their commercial use.

2. What measures and incentives do you support to protect and conserve local heritage?
   As I have some concerns about the usefulness of getting buildings or areas managed by National Trust I would support a council decision to have a role in preventing significant and historic places from being destroyed if it was in any way possible.

3. What is the most important heritage protection issue in your local government area?
   I believe there are some secret sacred places within the City of Port Lincoln Council boundaries that are highly valued by the remaining local Indigenous population that need to be protected from having houses built on top of them and the general public unknowingly walking all over them. Cemeteries and grave sites ought to be better protected from vandalism and from being forgotten. It is important for most cultures to have the history about specific places documented and available to any interested people and sometimes old buildings can be important to this aim, but retaining them in their original condition is often not practical.

5. Do you support local Councils retaining development approval powers for projects over $3m in value?
   Yes.

6. Do you have any other thoughts about the protection of heritage in your Council area?
