Heritage survey responses.

1. What do you think Council's role is in protecting and conserving heritage?
   Identifying buildings and places that are worthy of protection, listing them, and facilitating their conservation.

2. What measures and incentives do you support to protect and conserve local heritage?
   Council restoring and conserving public heritage places, and providing grants and subsidies to private owners for restoration and conservation work.

3. What is the most important heritage protection issue in your local government area?
   Preventing the demolition, or inappropriate modification, of heritage places for new development.

4. What policies and programs will you advocate to protect and conserve heritage in your local area?
   That responsibility for heritage protection should remain with Council. That incentives for conservation should be increased.

5. Do you support local Councils retaining development approval powers for projects over $3m in value?
   Yes, and Adelaide City Council should regain approval powers for projects over $10m.

6. Do you have any other thoughts about the protection of heritage in your Council area?
   The Expert Panel proposal to remove responsibility for local heritage from Council should be vigorously opposed.
