   I thank the National Trust for its interest in the Local Government Elections. I am pleased to advise your members and supporters that I value our Region's cultural, environmental and built heritage and believe it should be preserved and where possible enhanced. Many of our heritage sites are also tourism destinations and valued for the economic contribution they make to our region. I spent much time at the Wellington Courthouse when my parents were involved in the Community's restoration work, indeed my Mother, Glenda Couch-Keen has spent her adult life committed to the aims of the National Trust and has been a dedicated and tireless volunteer for the organisation. I share her disappointment in the National Trust's decision to sell off our State's heritage places, such as the Wellington Courthouse, into private ownership.
