    Councils have a role through their planning/development policies, building policies & procedures as well as by providing financial grants to owners of heritage properties.

  2. What measures and incentives do you support to protect and conserve local heritage?
    Local heritage grants and planning/development policies.

  3. What is the most important heritage protection issue in your local government area?
    Protecting and conserving both the built and natural heritage.

    Local heritage grants and planning/development policies.

  5. Do you support local Councils retaining development approval powers for projects over $3m in value?
    Yes

  6. Do you have any other thoughts about the protection of heritage in your Council area?
    Having owned a significant heritage building I know first hand the costs and time associated with maintaining a old building. I am not certain that all relevant Council Offices understand this. I would like to be able to make a difference. Giving an old building a economic use is one way to make conservation work.
