2014 candidate for Wattle Range Council.
Heritage survey responses.
What do you think Council's role is in protecting and conserving heritage?
It is important that heritage sites and buildings are protected for our future generations to share. The council should do all in it's power to ensure that nothing is damaged or changed in such areas.
What measures and incentives do you support to protect and conserve local heritage?
I believe that the 'Incentives and Strategic Investment - Adaptive Management' by Greening Australia is a very workable strategy.
What is the most important heritage protection issue in your local government area?
The conservation of the Canunda Dunes.
What policies and programs will you advocate to protect and conserve heritage in your local area?
Council must ensure that the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act is supported and upheld.
Do you support local Councils retaining development approval powers for projects over $3m in value?
Yes. It is important that local communities have management of the heritage of their areas.
Do you have any other thoughts about the protection of heritage in your Council area?
I am not aware of any issues that our council has not addressed in heritage protection.
