What do you think Council's role is in protecting and conserving heritage?
Assisting and leading the community in identifying and promoting local heritage places, buildings and environments, and then seeking state government approval and assistance in protecting and maintaining those identified and shown of to be of sufficient value to be protected and maintained for future generationsWhat measures and incentives do you support to protect and conserve local heritage?
Entering into partnerships with State and Federal governments and with local groups to achieve physical and economic sustainability of our local heritage. Fostering and supporting local heritage groups and historical societies.What is the most important heritage protection issue in your local government area?
The ability of the State Government to ignore local residents and Council recommendations and to remove or not even approve heritage listings.What policies and programs will you advocate to protect and conserve heritage in your local area?
At this time I am not on Council, and I believe that I may well have significant gaps in my awareness of the full range of existing policies and programs. Accordingly I would like to gain further knowledge of them all before I highlight or endorse any particular policy or program. I am supportive of the work of the local Marion Historical Society.Do you support local Councils retaining development approval powers for projects over $3m in value?
