Heritage survey responses.

1. What do you think Council's role is in protecting and conserving heritage?
   To work with Community and Government in obtaining an outcome that satisfies all requires and residents alike.

2. What measures and incentives do you support to protect and conserve local heritage?
   More input from State Government and N.T.S.A. by way of grant funding for local groups e.g. Progress Associations to help maintian and Conserve Heritages Listed Items within their area

3. What is the most important heritage protection issue in your local government area?
   The lack of funding to maintain and conserve.

4. What policies and programs will you advocate to protect and conserve heritage in your local area?
   Local groups e.g. Progress Associations within this area are very active in their areas. Most of these groups would be prepared to protect listed items if funds were available to do so. I do not mean through the Council ratepayer base. If they are State Listed - the state should help to maintain and conserve them.

5. Do you support local Councils retaining development approval powers for projects over $3m in value?
   Can't see the relevance to Heritage, but yes for a small Regional Council such as ours.

6. Do you have any other thoughts about the protection of heritage in your Council area?
